Raheem Sterling representative insists attacker will not leave Chelsea

Raheem Sterling’s representative has insisted that the England international has no plans to seek a move away from Chelsea during this summer’s transfer window.
The 28-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge last July, signing a five-year contract with the capital giants after ending his seven-year spell with Manchester City.

Sterling has been a regular for the Blues this season despite some injury problems, featuring on 25 occasions in all competitions, contributing six goals and three assists in the process.

However, Chelsea’s January business has led to suggestions that the Englishman could be made surplus to requirements by head coach Graham Potter this summer.

Arsenal have recently been credited with an interest in Sterling, who only has four Premier League goals to his name during the 2022-23 campaign.

However, Sterling’s representative Kelly Hogarth has firmly denied the recent speculation on her Twitter account.

“Sterling has expressed NO discontent with CFC & having committed his long-term future to the new ownership this summer, there is to be no review of his position in the upcoming transfer window,” Hogarth wrote.

“He very much looks forward to building upon the success of previous seasons.”

Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Hakim Ziyech and Mason Mount are among the players competing for starting roles out wide, while Christopher Nkunku is set to arrive from RB Leipzig this summer.

Chelsea are facing the possibility of missing out on Champions League football for next season, though, with the team currently down in 10th spot in the Premier League table, 14 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who beat them last time out.

Sterling has recently been on the sidelines through injury, although he has now featured in the team’s last two Premier League games against Southampton and Tottenham.

The Englishman played 83 minutes of his side’s 2-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he has actually not been a part of a Chelsea win in the league since the end of December.

Sterling enjoyed huge success during his time at Man City, scoring 131 goals and registering 95 assists in 339 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions.

The former Queens Park Rangers youngster won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, five EFL Cup trophies and the Community Shield for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Chelsea will be bidding to return to winning ways when they welcome Leeds United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday before hosting Borussia Dortmund for the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie next week, trailing 1-0 from the first leg in Germany.
